"You guys do cortados?" George said.
A girl he dated in the past noticed that as he got older the size of his drinks kept getting smaller.
"Eventually you'll just get an espresso or whatever."
George was fine with this, although if he was honest he didn't really like espressos. Too bitter, also always made him feel like he was hungry after. Good for after dinner, like how the Italians do it.
"Of course we'll get that out for you right away. Whole milk good?"
"Oh, yeah of course."
He tapped on the card machine and paid. Recently a lot of places do that, here though there was still a tip jar that accepted cash. His dad told him when he was younger that cash would never leave. It always will be king.
"George at the bar."
A small white cup appeared down the counter to his right. The cup looked hand made. It had a light blue strip running all around the rim. He didn't say togo or for here, so the guy just assumed he was going to stay.
So he did. He had a book with him, so he found a spot, next to a couple having coffee. No one else was on their phone. He thought this was weird.
