Pat knew his hand. He'd been out before in groups like this. He knew how to pull strings, and he was also one of the only people sober enough to figure out what was going on.
Jack, alone could go home with his brother, with someone like Layla, the only option was to his place. A two room apartment. He watched Jack and it always seemed like he was looking at her. So he played his hand. The only way to prevent him from just going home was to get them all to go home. But he'd been sulking all night, telling people even Layla that he was tired.
In that way his options were dwindling, but their time at the bar was winding down, as the clock was approaching 2am, and the booze had begun to weigh on people pulling that back down to earth or to their beds.
"Okay guys, drinks at ours." He announced.
Layla blushed immediately, and tried to get his attention, she was trying to be cool, but also tell him she wanted to sleep. What the fuck dude.
She didn't have time to get this across though, because the drunk mob cheered, and Jack put his arm around her.
