Day 1

Here we go ....

Exactly 2 years since I started writing on 200wordsAday. 
But 200wordsAday.com is officially gone.
I got some time off since early December. 

I have gotten so much from that 2 year experience so I have decided to continue to write. 

I am still dealing with some issues that keeps me from writing as often as I want to. But I need writing to expunge my thoughts on a daily basis. It is awesome to see that I still have this site as an option to put my thoughts down and stay engaged with the original group of avid and consistent writers. 

My first post is just to say I am here. 
I will continue to write. 
I am happy to keep the daily contact with the crew. 
And I really like this simple website.

Gabriel. I've written about this before and I'm still ideating this.

But I believe one of the best things about 200WAD was that there was in fact a crew.

At the same time I think one of its downfall was that it had only one crew.

I expect us to plurally be a part of crews with this new tribe feature i'm working on. In fact I like the word crew now that you use it I might rename it. 

What do you all think? What rings better with you. crew or tribe?

Lol btw you don't need to @ people in comments who have already commented. They'll already be notified anytime someone comments even if they're not @'d

Yeah you can do that. they'll just get two notificactions. I need to improve the notification system so that people don't get duplicates

I am still figuring my way around but how about a reply option - directly to a comment? Is that something easy to do?

Right now comments are just a single stream. Do you all think that a reply option would be useful? Keni when you say reply option are you thinking that the replies would then be threaded similar to HackerNews or Reddit?

Yes - so instead of just a comment on the post if someone wants to continue a conversation, people will be able to replay to a specific comment like reddit yes... and stackOverflow. I think StackOverflow has a lot of good community engagement boosting features. I mentioned that to Baz way back when.

That system of threaded replies is actually what the original 200WAD had I believe. Okay I can work on that in January once the Tribes feature is up and running. I'll give ya'll a heads up to keep you in the light.
