Salesperson Caught on Video

as reply to Do you want fries with that?

A mobile-phone salesman got me to pull the trigger on one of those mobile hotspots by making a simple promise:

"Hey, if it doesn't work out, you can bring it back within 30 days for a full refund, no questions asked."

I was experienced enough with 'closing tactics' to get him saying it on video. On day 27, I determined my usage patterns didn't justify the expense. I went to the mall to return it.

The aforementioned salesman was nowhere to be found -- which is what will almost always be the case.

The manager of the kiosk was.

Me:  "I'd like to return this, I'm not getting as much use out of it as I thought."

Manager:  "Sorry sir, no returns on opened items."

Me:  "Your salesman promised I could return it."

Manager:  "No, none of our team would ever say that."

Me:  "Hold on... " while I turn my phone around and press play on the video that shows the salesperson in front of the kiosk with business name visible -- in case social media needs to know about it."

Manager:  "He let you record him?" -- he mumbled to himself as he grabbed the box and started to process the refund.
