Another purpose for meditation

Beyond all the usual benefits associated with meditation, apparently, there is another one that I had not heard of until yesterday--contacting extraterrestrials (ETs).

I watched a documentary called Close Encounters of the Fifth Kind on Amazon Prime yesterday. These contact types are as follows:
  • Close Encounter of the First Kind: Sighting of an ET craft.
  • Close Encounter of the Second Kind: Physical evidence of an ET craft.
  • Close Encounter of the Third Kind: Sighting of an ET life form.
  • Close Encounter of the Fourth Kind: Experience on-board an ET craft.
  • Close Encounter of the Fifth Kind: Human-initiated contact with ETs.
According to Dr. Steven Greer, an American ufologist, aliens are real. The US government has evidence, and secret agencies have been tasked with keeping information under wraps. The military wants to keep its power and dominance and is characterizing the aliens as a hostile threat. Dr. Greeer says it is the exact opposite. The ETs are from multiple, far-advanced civilizations and are peaceful.

Dr. Greer isn't some random crazy person wearing a tinfoil hat. He's a retired ER physician, so at the very least he is a crazy person who is disciplined enough to get a medical degree.

How did he become so knowledgeable about ETs? It appears that ETs can be contacted and communicated with using meditation. The documentary is full of footage of visual phenomena throughout the world captured during events in which small groups of humans were using meditation protocols to make contact. Dr. Greer believes the evidence is overwhelming that ETs are real and are responding to communication with humans. These ETs somehow have the ability to phase in and out of our three-dimensional space, which is why the lights can appear and disappear quickly.

Consciousness is a big mystery. There are many things in quantum physics that are currently unexplainable such as the concept of quantum entanglement, which is when two particles somehow become intrinsically linked so that even at a large distance, the movement or change of one particle affects the other one.

Supposedly there have been experiments with random number generators in which the output can be influenced by people who are thinking about certain numbers. Another experiment involved a plant placed in a room with no windows. There was one light that would shine in a corner of the room based on a random number generator. When you place the plant in a corner of the room, the light tends to shine more in that corner.

I don't know what to make of any of this other than to say I find it fascinating.
Interesting. I am really getting into meditation lately. I suspect that it is positively impacting my sleep. But reading this makes me a little scared. Not a fan of things I can't comprehend well.
