Help!

The Zoom Zoom club has a strong membership of over 900 members in Victoria and Tasmania. But like many sporting clubs, only a tiny percentage of the members step up and organise events and activities.

I recall a recent interaction with a member who bent my ears on how the club doesn't do enough activities, and when they do, they are not listening to the membership. As he lamented about how bad things were, I wonder if he has ever thought that he could be part of the solution and get involved. I guess not, but I did take the opportunity to remind him that the club does not run on its own.

I presume that one of the reasons why members don't step up to help is because they think it might be too hard. This is not the case. There are so many small tasks that members can take on that won't take too much time or effort. For example, if they want to do a club run, there are plenty of existing run notes from previous runs that can be used again. No one needs to invent a new route for each run.

If I knew the formula that would get more members involved, then I would bottle it. But until then, I will have to keep asking for help.
