There's a concept that's doing rounds on social media, it goes like this...
Don't attach yourself to a specific person, a place, a company an organisation or a project. Attach yourself to a mission and a set of values.
As a piece of career advice, this is inch perfect. It keeps you from being overly attached to an organisation.
But bringing it into relationships, I found it a bit contrasting with my beliefs. I believe you need a level of vulnerability to find love or something like that. So you'd have to attach yourself to someone before you figure out the next day and the next.
A dear friend helped untangle it, she said your mission decides who you choose to get vulnerable with.
With her explanation, it makes sense.
