December

"Pinch and a punch on the first of the month"

Rather than look back at November, I thought I would look forward. December is always a birthday month for me. Fortunately, my birthday is not close enough to Christmas for people to combine my birthday and Christmas present into one. December is also the first month of summer for us antipodeans, with the weather heating up and the threat of bushfires increasing. After that, it's beach weather and the beginning of the holiday season.

The month has just started, but it feels like I am at the end already. However, unlike other jobs I have had, I won't be winding down at Christmas because my company has clients who will need support during the festive season. Therefore, I will be working through and taking a holiday in late January.

I am looking forward to a Christmas with family, and now that we are out of lockdown, perhaps some Boxing Day bocce with friends. I love a good feed, and there are no other seasons on the calendar where the days are filled with continuous eating than Christmas. The warmer season could mean people are more willing to catch up, so the weekends and evenings opportunities to reconnect with friends and eating is always involved.
