Christmas shopping

It's the last shopping week before Christmas, and it's time to head out to the shops to get the fresh foods and drinks needed for Christmas Day. As usual, it's a jungle out there, with every man and his dog out shopping. Getting a car park is near impossible, and the queues are long.

Getting out as early as you can is a good start. Many shops open early, and you can be out and back by 9.00 am. Unfortunately, many more people have cottoned onto this tactic, and it seems to be making little difference this year.

Not trying to park your car at the shopping centre makes sense. I have been designated the pilot, and I am more than happy to drop others off. When they are ready to leave, they call in the chopper, and I pick them up. No getting hot under the collar because some fool has stolen the parking spot you just waited ten minutes for.

On days like these, you just need a little more patience to survive. Then, come to Christmas Day, you can get a little respite and rest, ready to go again the day after Christmas for the Boxing Day sales.
