Aussie tennis

The women's singles final for the Australian Open tennis is starting, and the number one seed, Australia's Ash Barty, is playing the 27th seed, Dannielle Collins from the United States.

On paper, Ash Barty should win, and she has everyone in Australia barracking for her. However, many pundits think that Danniulle Collins will give her a run for her money, and it won't be as straightforward as many of us believe it will. Ash Barty is a great player and unpretentious. She will take it all in stride if she loses, and the sports-loving public will still hold her in high regard. But I don't think she will lose.

The men's doubles final will follow the women's final, and it will be easier in this match to pick an Australian winner, as all the players in this match are Australian. The Special K's, Nick Kyrgios and Thanasi Kokkinakis are favourites to beat Mathew Ebden and Max Purcell. With so many Australians in the finals, the television ratings should go through the roof for the host broadcaster.
