Back to the office

For the first time in a long time, I returned to working in the office today. I had to think long and hard about the weekend tasks I would normally do to prepare for my week at work. Ironing enough shirts and making sure I had something to pack in my lunchbox were tasks I hadn't done for a while. First world problem, I know, but I need to be fully prepared at the start of the week.

With a decline in COVID cases and hospital admissions, there is now a big push to have a majority of the city workforce back in their offices. Getting more workers back to the city will give it a financial boost.

The train is always the best way to commute to the office. As I walk along the river, I generally get off a stop or two earlier and get some daily exercise. The patronage of public transport is very low at the moment, as people don't yet feel safe to return the crowded carriages that usually accompany my commute. Hopefully, I will get a seat.

I gave myself a little more time to get re-accustomed to the routine of commuting to the office. I didn't want to be late for my first day back.
