Going away for the long weekend is always a little bit harder when you have to find someone to look after the dogs. Usually, we rely on some family or friends to look after them, but we will have to use a dog sitter this coming weekend.
Our dogs are like our children, and we won't leave them with anyone we don't trust. The breeder we got Louie and Otis from had always said that she would be happy to look after him if we went away. So we thought that would be good, back to familiar surroundings for him. But unfortunately, there was no room at her inn for Louie and Otis this weekend.
However, she did recommend a friend of hers who was more than happy to have Louie and Otis for the weekend. So, to help Louie and Otis get familiar with the other dogs, we went to visit last weekend. They met with Daisy, Lola and their friend Eric. He took an instant shining to them all.
We have just dropped Louie off at his weekend getaway, and I am sure he will settle in quickly. I hope he doesn't cause too much fuss and gets along with the other kids. I am sure they will be fine.
