Now that Otis is almost 14 weeks old and has all his vaccinations, he is ready to venture out into the wide world. So, today, we took on his first walk through the local streets.
My wife and I thought we would take both the dogs out and do a walk-up through the local bushland. Louie always gets excited about going on a walk, and Otis sensed that something was happening and also got quite excited. After we put a lead on each dog, they were ready to go on their walk.
When we first took Louie on a walk two years ago, he didn't want to go and hid under a car. So we encouraged him out with some treats, but he was very timid on his first walk. Not Otis, he was very happy to walk on a lead, probably because his mate Louie was also coming along.
We did a two-kilometre walk, and neither of the dogs got tired. I would have thought that Otis may have tired a little, given it was his first walk. But, to his credit, he walked the whole route on his own. Well done, that boy.
