Travel plans

Now that Easter is over, my wife was keen to schedule more holidays for the rest of the year. It has been a miserable cold and wet today, and we are heading into the winter months, so some time away in warmer climates is required.

We have an airline credit from last year when we tried to get away to Darwin. Because of the tropical climate, you are better to visit Darwin in the winter months. It is a lot cooler, and the humidity is a lot lower. So our first trip to organise is a week away in Darwin during August.

Between now and then, my wife has suggested that we have two other long weekends away before we head to Darwin. My wife's brother has a place to stay down along the southeast coast in Gippsland. It will be a cheap place to stay and not too far from Melbourne.

That leaves us one other long weekend away to organise. A weekend in Sydney would be nice, maybe take in a show, and do some sightseeing on the harbour. We have good friends in Sydney who we haven't seen for a few years. With the removal of interstate travel restrictions, now would be the best time to go and stay with them.
