When he got into the car he sort of jumped. The music he was listening to early startled him. Loud and fast he had been driving for 30 minutes or something so he had built up into a drop of one his favorite songs.
Although now he didn’t like it so much. It was from a different time. More when he was hopeful, now he wasn’t so hopeful. He wasn’t so happy.
What his uncle said to him had stuck with him and he couldn’t shake what he had said. Maybe his dad was trying to break free from all that. So maybe he’d be better off. Maybe he’d be happier.
He didn’t know but he didn’t like thinking of his dad as needing to get away.
