"Not much, I mean not really much lately, I've just been chilling."
His uncle didn't like his answer, but he didn't question it more. He let the kid pretend to have this. He also thought maybe that is what the kid felt. His uncle gave him a face like he honestly couldn't remember being that age so maybe you are happy.
The boy remembered something his uncle had told him once was there was a happiness curve, and it drops off a lot at 40. The uncle probably was thinking this as well, so neither could tell the other if what the other was experiencing was true.
