On the road  Imogen Howe only thought about necessities.  gas and  food the only things that would keep her going. It had been about ten hours she thought. Already going through her phones battery, for some reason she noticed it getting darker. It woke her up.  sleep the next thing...

"Yeah, no response amigo. I think she's just having a moment. Don't worry she'll give you a call back just try to keep yourself occupied."

"She just keeps driving though. I don't know. She would have told me"

"Just let her be man. Maybe she is going to visit her mom?"

Alan searched the house for his keys. His eyes glued to her little dot. Moving further and further west. Could she be going to her parent's? That was an hour south more or less. No what the fuck. 

He tried calling again it just rang and rang.

"Hey Siri, call Aaron."

"Helllooo"


"Hey...

"What road?" 

"Main St."

"There no, I mean thats what a 25 mile an hour zone. She probably just saw a friend. You know how girls are. Always talking."

"Yeah its just weird." Alan Responded. 

He didn't want to tell Aaron that she does this route everyday without fail always 15 minutes....

Alan at home. Liked the quiet, liked her not knowing what he was doing. For some reason he felt in control then. He played music she didn't like. Sometimes even microwaved fish. He was now listening to jazz. Noisey horrible jazz. He didn't even like it. But he liked that...

"Do I have to come to cafe? Can't you just pick it up here?" Alan said. 

A teetering pile a new plates and cups had been delivered to their house instead of the cafe.

"Its not like this is the first time this has happened  Imogen Howe ."

When she woke up the house was quiet. It was back to normal she said. That made her a bit sad, but she still got up. She made her bed, and took the wine glass down stairs. Washed it with warm soapy water, then started the coffee. She was up...

When he was home he retreated back to his former self. Aaron communicated with grunts and groans, and only existed in common spaces out of necessity food, or water. His Dad was fine with this accustomed to be alone most of the time. Adult life seems to pull at you...
