“You’re lying.” Jackie responded.
“There’s no way he did that.”
“The guy you work with? Surely not that’s crazy. And you were just standing there in your towel?”
“ yeah this is what I have to work with.”
“Crazies.”
Jackie was laughing at this, alone she was in a cafe. There weren’t too many people, which she thought was strange. It was a big space, felt like doing lunch she would be surrounded, now she felt just like an island. She was so alone she even laughed out loud forgetting she was in public.
She had ordered a cappuccino, now she was waiting for Keith to text her.
On the counter a small plaque said “Time waits for no one”
This made her think “why does Jackie have to then.”
So she texted Keith. In a way they used to text.
“Keith you got some explaining to do.”
Then she deleted that. Sounded too accusing.
“Hey….” She wrote.
Then deleted sounded too sad.
Finally she just wrote
“KEITH” and sent it.
In all caps she thought he would be confused, but also not feel like he had to respond. She just needed to talk to him.
