Under the Water

as reply to get the writing out of the way

"This dog has been in our family for generations, a purebreed, with a pure family line taking care of it, only Smiths have ever cared for this dog."

"But why do you want to change now? Like why this advertisement? Why me?"

"I'll do the questions here. We liked your application you seemed honest, something us Smith's like."

He nodded to a woman next to him, and she nodded back. Then he coughed hackingly.

"Execuse me. We also don't have anyone else in our line. My one son moved to new york, he has no interest in taking care of the dog. Just wants to be famous."

"Our daughter too, doesn't want to be bound here. She says we still live in the 1500s."

"But why me?"

"We liked your moxy, and we don't have much time." The man punctuated the sentence with another coughing fit.

"We will let the dog in soon, then if you are happy we will sign all the paper work, and exchange the keys."

=====

Joey liked that, moxy.

"Moxy." He said outloud.

Mari had some sort of moxy.

He wondered if he did, or if other people thought that. Looking around the room he realize how busy it was, how many people were there, how much noise, it was like coming up from under the water.
