Back in the game

Last week I wrote about how bad the Richmond Tigers went against the Melbourne Demons and how many pundits felt that the Tigers were declining. A week is a long time in football because they came back with a vengeance last Friday night.

Halfway through the second quarter, the Tigers were down 25 points against the Western Bulldogs. By the end of the game, they were victors by 22 points. In the second half of the game, Richmond kicked nine goals to the Western Bulldog's two goals. A huge turn around from the previous week.

The Western Bulldogs had won their first seven games of the season and had sat on top of the ladder. After Richmond's poor performance against the Melbourne Demons the week before, the Bulldogs were expected to win easily. The Richmond Tigers brought their pressure game in the second half and overwhelmed them.

This week, the Richmond Tigers play the Geelong Cats. The same team Richmond beat in last year's Grand Final to win the premiership. It will be Friday night football at its best, and I am looking forward to flopping myself down in front of the TV to watch it.

Eat 'em Alive, Tigers, we're back in the game.
