He wanted to explain to him he wasn't on a first date, it was a friend he just emailed. Or was he on a first date, the thought crossed his mind. He had no idea, he was worried this guy knew more than he should.
Instead he awkwardly laughed, he'd have something to tell Ryan when he showed up.
He must of took his lateness as an excuse to be even later. Maybe he fell asleep or something he thought.
He took the tea pot to a table, and looked around different groups of people. Some couples, people playing boardgames, one group playing cards, but complicated. They kept reading off different attacks it sounded like.
He likes to imagine he got good at watching people, but he wondered if it was just his people. He still remembered their names, still liked to think about their morning routines. It helped him for awhile get out of bed. Jane would never wallow like this.
