Spent almost 12 hours on the road on Friday. Spent 7 hours returning from the same trip.
On Friday, it rained heavily hence the need to drive carefully. But really, some major roads were actually flooded.
The road trip reminds me of Nigeria in ways I don’t want to.
We had more than 6 police checkpoints. The sincere policemen were straight to the point - “do you have anything for us?” The cunny ones were looking at our car papers and trying their hardest to waste our time by finding faults with our papers when there isn’t.
Bad roads. Bribe taking and time wasting policemen. The former and latter describes things top of my list of things I wish I could erase from Nigeria.
I enjoyed the trip, but I’m not encouraged to want to embark on a Nigerian road trip anytime soon.
