Rotten Apple

My new iPad mini started to behave strangely the other day. After opening an app, it would then close the app. It wasn't an issue with all apps, but it was an issue, nonetheless. Then, all of a sudden, it crashed, and I could get it started again. It would oscillate between a spinning wheel and the passcode keypad. The only thing I could do is let it run out of batteries.

My iPad mini was only a few weeks old, and it appeared I might have got a rotten Apple. I tried every suggestion on the internet, but, no luck, it was not going to restart. It was time to book an appointment at the Apple store.

I had to download the Apple Store app onto my iPhone, to make a booking with the Genius bar at the Apple Store. My nearest Apple Store is at the Westfield Doncaster shopping centre. I always dread going there, because it is too hard to park, particularly on the weekend.

Anyway, I dragged my arse to the Apple Store, and it was a good thing I booked because there was a long queue of people waiting to get in. The technician had a look at my iPad, run some diagnostics and reinstalled iOS from scratch. It was a good thing I didn't have anything on the iPad that I couldn't afford to lose.

Let's hope this has fixed the problem, and I don't have to go back again. Next time I will be insisting that they replace my rotten Apple.
Very strange behavior, especially for an iPad that you've only had for a few weeks. Let's hope the reinstall fixed it.
