I have vivid memories of watching the very first season of Survivor. It was the only season when they announced the winner live right from the island. I can't believe that was twenty years ago. Somehow, they managed to crank out forty seasons of this show. I watched many of the early seasons, but I stopped watching it the last few years. Part of the reason is that I got rid of cable/satellite TV.
I recently took advantage of an Amazon Prime deal to get two months of Paramount+ for $0.99. Little did I know that the Survivor seasons would be available.
The most recent season was Survivor 40: Winners at War. It features 10 men and 10 women--all of whom were winners from previous seasons. The show also upped the ante with a $2 million dollar prize. I just watched the finale last night. I have to say that after twenty years and forty seasons, somehow the people involved with this show manage to still create great entertainment. This season was an emotional roller coaster with all kinds of twists and turns that had me guessing right until the end. Survivor shows no sign of slowing down, and I'm glad I made the time to watch the latest season.
