Tired

Between yesterday and today, I spent a majority of my time writing, rewriting, editing and re-editing.

Trying to wrap up my story for the Medium challenge that is due by Tuesday. When I wrote the first draft, the word count was close to 2000. So many crazy things happened in that story and I wanted to find a way to put it all in there. But the one thing I have learnt writing so many years now, is the beauty of a short and concise piece.

So after repeated back and forth, the piece is at 1,163 words now. I took out a lot of stuff. I also checked the writing grade level in the Hemingway app. It said I wrote at a 2nd grade level. I think that is good. Grade 6 was what I knew to be ideal but I hope grade 2 doesn't mean it is childish.

Next I went looking for memes and images I could use. Nothing feels good enough or I am just tried from the creative work. I still haven't come up with a catchy title or subtitle. I don't have the energy for that today.

Thank you all for the encouraging words. And especially Brandon for telling me about the competition.
This time tomorrow, I want to put it out there.
