Running

I started preparing for a marathon about a month ago and, after two runs, one of 15k and one of 20, in two consecutive days, I injured myself. A sore tendon in my left foot. Not a big deal, but it takes time to heal. I waited two weeks, and today I went running again, 13Km. The pain is back. Fuck. So what should I do? After extended research on the topic, I learned that active recovery is best. However, the suggested active recovery protocol is boring - roll a tennis ball under your foot. Alright. So here's what I'm gonna do. Run. I'll run, once a day 30 min easy and carefully.

So, what did I learn from this? Accept that injuries can occur when doing sports, do a proper warmup, and take recovery time after more intensive training sessions.

Running brings more wear and tear to the body than cycling or swimming. Gradually adapting to run from 5 to 10 to 15 and 20 takes patience and regular workouts. I'm eager to get back at it, but I guess I'll do some yoga in the meantime.
