Day 6 of 6

I am back from my 6 day vacation.
Just arrived home sweet home. It took us longer to drive back. Ton of traffic. I guess people going to their thanksgiving destination.

Last night, I met a friend who was local to VA beach. He showed me around town and we ate at a local restaurant. Very nice experience.

I packed my stuff early and decided to be in bed by 9pm. I slept well and woke up feeling well rested.

Along the way, my brother, my mom and I discussed interesting things. We also declared our first Airbnb vacation trip a success. We did a retrospective on lessons learnt and what we would do better for the next time.

If it helps anyone:

1. Unless it is for financial or health reasons, do not eat at home all the time. The purpose of a trip is to explore - so go out more.

2. Have basic necessities with you. Not all hosts provide what you need. And you may not know where things are kept. We didn't know where the dishes were so we ended up buying a pan. Only to discover the next day that there were a ton in a hidden closet.

3. Always have water bottle or a filter with you. Depending on the temperature or the state of the tap water, you may need to have water at any time.

4. Don't eat at a popular chain. We ordered from PF Chang one night. It was a disaster. Too expensive and too sugary. Plus, the food was the same thing we get at home. So avoid the chains and eat a local places.

5. If you know someone local, get their perspective about places to go to and things to do. That can save you a lot of money and time. And you will get to the gems that locals know about.

That is all.
End of vacation.

Time to get into the last sprint for the year.
