BlackBerry devices officially stopped receiving support on January 4th, 2022 — BlackBerry is officially dead.
Some red flags that likely led up to this point:
When the market chose touch screens, BlackBerry continued to opt for physical keyboards.
When the market chose other operating systems, BlackBerry continued to opt for their operating system — BlackBerry OS.
Even when the market did choose BlackBerry, as it once did with BlackBerry Messenger, the company eventually shooed customers away when it decided to keep the service exclusive to their devices instead of making it cross-platform.
Conviction is one thing; stubbornness is another thing entirely.
Listening and paying attention beget the former; ignorance and greed beget the latter.
