Today was the last day of a video presence class I am taking online.
It was one of the most awkward class for me. I am not comfortable talking to a video camera and acting normal. I actually forget what normal even is.
The class was intense with lot of very useful information and daily assignments.
The last assignment was a competition where the winner gets a $50 reward towards any new class.
Last night I must have done over 75 retakes of my recording. I wasn't happy with anything I was creating. Nothing felt authentic enough. I reached a point where I could hear my voice cracking due to exhaustion. It made me angry that I needed so many retakes. After all those years of toastmasters, why was speaking to a camera so difficult.
Anyway, in the end, I was happy with my made and tried to go to bed before the last session. Turns out I was too tired to sleep.
My hard work paid off cause I won the competition.
It was an intense week with everything I have learnt but if I don't practice the lessons, it will all be for nothing.
