Today was supposed to be the last hurdle.
The last doctor I was going to see to get the all clear was today. And I got it. He said everything looks good and he doesn't need to see me for another 3 months.
I was starting to celebrate when I decided to check the status of my passport again. The website says that it is in process. Not complete or mail or anything but in process.
I called the number that was provided on the website and it took me to a person that told me nothing. She was basically reading the same in-process information that I looked up.
I explained to her that I had 2 options. To pick up the passport the next day or have it mailed to me overnight. Had I selected picking up the passport next day, I would be all set by now.
But here I am - with my flight for Monday morning and hotel booked. No passport in sight. No tracking number. No issues that were brought up. And absolutely zero information available about what the hold up is. My passport could be in the mail tomorrow or maybe not for weeks.
Saying I was frustrated all day is an understatement.
The closer it gets to the day of flight, the higher the fees I have to pay for changes or cancellation. So I went ahead and cancelled both flight and hotel a few minutes ago. I am hoping that the passport arrives tomorrow and I will have to buy my tickets again. I would be happy to do that.
