Blue Zones

I thought I had a profound idea yesterday. One line of something like wherever you are your there. Or a sweeping generalisation that works for the stage of life I am in. Like something good you could put on Instagram and people would direct message their best friend with. But I can’t remember.

Future Drew is not pleased.
Past Drew probably feels good for coming up with something or thinking about coming up with something. 

 Last night I was talking with some guys about Blue Zones or places where people live for a longer time than others. 

We also talked a lot about alcohol, half of these guys have given up drinking, another third reduced it and another third hasn’t done anything. Me included. 

In some of these places people do drink a lot. Or they stay up really late. Spain is an example of this their lifespan climbs but their lifestyle is that of very late nights. And normal mornings. Spanish friends all say it’s the olive oil. 

I am not sure. Researchers are not sure. Maybe. It’s the sun, I think though Spains healthcare has recently improved a lot. 

I have a theory about these places that it’s the smell. But this is a far fetched theory that because a lot of these places are long living communities they grown up only around the same trees. Trees and plants that grow together for a long time develope complex was to communicate through smells. So while it maybe the food it could also be the smells and all that from the trees and flowers and plants around.

The reason I say this is because no one has studied this, people since a long time only study bad smells. 

But again this wasnt the good idea I think I was just trying to redeem myself. 

Also something I should say that researchers are very sure that alcohol is not that good for you. I think new data points to more than 3 drinks a week is bad.
