Day 1

The 12 hour flight to Dubai was seamless.
The plane was not fully booked and I got a seat with 2 empty seats next to me. So I got to stretch and nap for most of the trip.

When I was done sleeping, I discovered that I could get Wi-Fi with a $20 fee. I bought it and caught up with the world in the clouds. I then resumed listening to a book I had started some days back - Life Force by Tony Robbins. The book was fascinating and I got through a lot of the book non-stop. It gave me a lot of hope about the future of medicine and things that could directly affect the quality of my life.

When I got interrupted for a meal, I started to play with the on flight entertainment. I had a bunch of options but my eyes found mindvalley and I clicked on it. There were select courses that were available to us during the flight. I immediately found one course I liked and started to listen. To my surprise, I was alert and enjoying the class. Unfortunately, the plane landed while I was 50% done with the course. So now I have plans for my return flight entertainment.

Arriving in Dubai, I felt hot immediately. In the airport. We had to walk A LOT to get to the baggage check-in area. I saw a lot of Indians and Ethiopians working as staff at the airport. The two countries I grew up in besides the US. I immediately felt at home. At one point, an Indian staff member actually talked to me in Hindi - thinking I was Indian. And I responded to him. No need to tell him I wasn't Indian when I could communicate with him. I felt nice doing that.

Then I walked out and caught a cab to take me straight to my hotel. The driver was an Ethiopian woman. She gave me a ton of tips on the way to my hotel.

Now I wait for the Nassumit to start in a few hours.
