I woke up a little late this morning. Realizing that I will be on my way tomorrow evening, I got busy.
First I googled the location of a reasonable mall in the area. The huge mall located near downtown is too expensive for me and I am looking for local things. So I went to a mall called Wafi City. It was just 10 minutes away from my hotel. The entire mall is pyramid themed. It looks and feels very luxurious. I wasn't expecting it to be that grand. I captured a few pictures and looked at a few stores. I couldn't find anything i wanted to buy at first. Then I went to the food court.
There was a local food store within the food court. Everything was 100% authentic. What got my immediate attention was the sweets section. My favorite sweet of all time - baklava - started back at me. I wanted to buy it all. It was being made right there fresh and the smell alone was intoxicating. But I knew it would have gluten. I could manage the sugar with insulin but I can't do anything about the gluten.
So after a few minutes of window shopping, I walked away.
I did a few other things for the rest of the day. That needs a detailed post on its own.
