Last day in Dubai.
Last day on a wonderful week away from regular life. My brother calls it a vacation in the middle of a vacation since I am not going back to work.
On my last day, I tried to go to the beach, the mall and a market called Seblok market.
I first went to the mall since I had an appointment for a few things. I was getting a hair treatment with something called Henna. It is a natural herb that is used a lot in the middle east, India and Africa as a hair conditioner and color. It is an elaborate process and I wanted to have a professional do it in Dubai since I always do it myself at home.
Next it was henna tattoo. Similar to the type I had before at the beach but this time I wanted something elaborate. Here is an image of what it looked like right after it was done. I love it.
Then I headed off to a market. When I reached there, I was so mad that I didn't go there before. You could find everything at this place. And it was all very reasonably priced. It was definitely not a tourist area. All the locals shopped there. I got a few items and had to head back since I was yet to have my COVID19 test done for my flight.
I reached the airport at 6pm local time. My flight is for 2am the following day. I planned to chill in the lounges that American Express provides to their customers. When I got here, the test was quick. Negative. I was relived. After attending a conference of 700 people, going to restaurants, using the metro station, visiting the Expo and then the local market, I wasn't 100% sure I would test negative.
Next, I headed to the check in area and was told I had to wait 4 hour before I could check in. Apparently there is a special security check for the flight to the US. So here I am 8 hours early to my flight - with almost nothing to do.
I should have spent more time at the market.

I like it a lot myself. I want to keep having new ones whenever the old ones fade.
