Something to Look Forward to

A lot of my work lately involves learning from other people. The type of research I do currently allows me to techniques I would never be able to do alone, but the data and all the outputs are new to me. This has its upsides, its nice to use techniques other people don't, makes your work different. But means the learning curve is a lot harder, and you make a lot of mistakes. Its easy to interpret data how you want, when you don't really know what you are doing.

But its nice to learn from the real experts, how easily they go through the data, and how fast they interpret it. It just takes seeing it a lot I guess, and making mistakes I guess at before that.

I think in the beginning of the week I was feeling quite confined or stuck in this area, but now I feel much more hopeful. There is a new project starting, and the chemistry required for it is fun and interesting.

I know it will eventually become a hard project, I think whenever projects pass 80% completion they always get harder. Like most of the stuff is there, but the last 20% is tough.

Maybe its good to sort of start a new fun project to have with the hard ones. That way when they are challenging you have something to look forward to.
