At some point in the last decade or so (maybe even before that), the internet lost its mind over the fact that Mark Zuckerberg wears the same thing every day and came to the conclusion that this habit was somehow a crucial part of success.*
For whatever reason, this observation and all these articles have managed to overshadow the fact that plenty of other successful people don’t wear the same thing every day — like Oprah Winfrey and Jacinda Ardern.
This isn’t to discount the merits of wearing the same thing every day — it may very well have merit.
But maybe the main takeaway from all this content we see about the habits of people we look up to isn't that they’ve found the holy grail of habits for success, but that they’ve found certain behaviors and habits that work for them — that set them up for success.
The most helpful thing to do probably isn’t to just copy someone, but instead to introspect and understand how you work and what specific changes in your life are going to best support your life’s goals.
*A quick Google search will reveal that the Internet is still losing its mind over this as evidenced by the number of recent articles and videos being published about it.
