The accident

He woke and grabbed his phone. Just like the day before. It was hot from being on the charger. He used to keep it under his bed but then you heard all those things. She wasn’t up yet, at least by her WhatsApp. Says last time viewed was last night. Unlike the day before his whole body hurt and the doctors were worried about contusions or concussions. So that night he had to wake up every hour or so and his parents would ask him questions. “Where are you?” and “whats your name?”. That was annoying but better than being dead. He tried to sit up but felt like he was tackled by the whole football team. No one was home his parents at work. He started getting more text from friends and people at school. “You okay?”, “dude where are you” and stuff like that.

He doesn’t remember the accident completely but he remembers he had to keep a secret.

She wasn’t driving reckless. Something else happened ice on the road. But we hadn’t talked to keep the story straight and by now they were probably doing all that accident reconstruction stuff. Maybe she’s online now.
