Library Card

Today was the first day I went to a public library in a long time. The person at the desk said it had been close to 18 years. I guess 10 year old me had a love for birds and dog breeding. Something I don't share now. Walking around and listening to everyone was calming. Do you have any books on llamas my daughter loves llamas. Do you have any books in Spanish, like kids books. I want to teach my son Spanish. Do you know how to print?

I forgot about these things being not always around people. Lately my life is surrounded by books, articles and anything really. Because of institutional access I can get most things, and because of knowledge and owning a laptop I can get others just off line. I take a lot of this for granted. Or forget that other people aren't right with me.

The library even had a 3d printer with tech classes run by a guy named Robert. I also liked that, he isn't a teacher, he just owns the computer repair store down the street and does this in his free time.

In science there is a lot of talks about fields. This field and that field. But lately I have been seeing them like ghettos. Nothing coming in and nothing going out.

Quite the opposite of a library where questions aren't met with answers but resources to find them. It was nice hearing people ask questions like how do I find this? And people guiding them. . It was a nice thing to see.
