I was more interested in the coincidence, and how that was a little funny. But I think she just thinks I want her to do her job better. Something I didn't really care about. I was only there for the previous night. So I explained that I thought it was funny that I saw her both times right when something was out she was there. And I smiled. She asked if I would like to speak to her manager and huffed off.
I was in a hurry, not like I had an appointment but I had been on the road for 3 hours and had 5 hours to go. Just got out of Chicago. I went to McDonalds and ordered an espresso. That should be fast. The smallest drink, just a click of the button, billions served. I waited, I was 495. 496, 497 and 498 came up and grabbed their bags bulging with french fries and some with burgers bags greased. Huge drink trays, the ice shook as they walked out the door. And I just sat there leaning against the wall. I went over to the McCafe area. And asked if she forgot about me, No I haven't sir, its just taking a bit. Give me two seconds. Its been 10 minutes now, for the smallest drink at the fastest restaurant. She says its ready, in a sing song voice. Then says idk why anyone would need that much coffee. It takes so long pressing that button so many times, her finger hurt. She handed me 16 ounces of espresso. A cup filled to the brim. And tells me to have a good day! I was dumbfounded, they charged me one dollar, but thanked her kindly and left. Afraid of my drink that might have enough caffeine to kill a small family. When I got to the car I couldn't help think am I the crazy one? Did she think after one shot that theres no way a man wants this small of a drink, but after 16 was like theres no way this man needs this much coffee. There was no winning.
