Reflecting on principles

Routinely revisiting, clarifying, and reaffirming the principles by which you aim to live can help keep you accountable to the kind of person you promised yourself & others that you would be.

Today is as good a time as ever to do such a check-in. And who knows, perhaps you might consider to making it a routine henceforth.

Here are the three principles on my mind:

  1. Love & kindness always win in the long run.
  2. Treating our endeavors as play not only makes the experience more enjoyable but often yields the best results.
  3. Acceptance & forgiveness are important if you want to make space to feel your best and to do your best work.

Once you’ve done the hard work of clarifying your principles, you can put your principles into action at a moment’s notice by asking yourself: in what ways can I think, speak, and act to embody my values?

The more you clarify your principles, the more you deploy them, the more actualized and second-nature the manners of thinking, seeing, and living you aim to adopt become.
