McKayla slopped the wet laundry on Johnnys linoleum counter top. 

“Jesus fucking Christ I’m freezing. And did your fucking neighbor drink this?”

She went and got the bottle of whiskey. 

“This wasn’t fucking open when I bought it.”

"Just so you guys know were closing in like 5 min." the pizza guy said. 

Johnny wasn't sure if he was Giorgio or if Giorgio was anyone. Just was happy someone broke the silence.

It became something between them. With out mentioning it, she began to question whether it actually was. She wondered if this was how he felt. If he would just ignore it it would go away.

In the reflection he saw the car. But something instinctual told him not to turn. Look ahead. Keep your head straight you’re not doing anything wrong.

He never told anyone about that story except McKayla, one night they were drinking some whiskey. Or something he was drinking beer first, then they started whiskey. They didn't have a chaser just diet coke so they made cocktails they kept saying at least.

Johnny asked Dennis, this was before he went to school, before medicine and all that. Dennis to him back then was the smartest man in the world. Could do anything, could build a shed, or a computer, or send data all across the world.

Johnny was trying to listen to this woman. There was training in the hospital, but also a bit she reminded him of someone. It wasn't his mom, but maybe his grandma. So he felt like he should stay.
