The Gap 2021-01-18 06:44:53

Lately, I've had some recurring thoughts that I'm not sure if they're anxiety or genuine. But largely I've realised they mostly stem from the gap between reality and my desired reality. There's a pandemic, of course, there's a gap. But after a year in some ways, the pandemic has become background noise and not an exceptional event that can be used to dismiss every concern.

A lot of time when things aren't the way you want them to be it's usually because something's wrong. Maybe you need a change of scenery or a course correction. My inclination has always been that everything needs to change to fill whenever there's a gap. Let the past die, kill it if you have to.

But just because there's a gap doesn't mean the current reality is bad. It's fine. And fine doesn't always require a bonfire. You can accept it for what it is, enjoy it, and plan to make things even better. Maybe the dissatisfying aspects of life will be satisfying again when relieved of the pressure of filling that gap.

Damn loved reading this abstract reflection. Any chance you will share more concrete reflection that spawned this?

Lol I gotta feeling that this interesting thing will fall through the cracks. But you'll share some other interesting thing though! I always like following your abstract reflections because they feel so relatable even though they leave me wondering what the concrete story is behind them.

Haha honestly the concrete story is usually ridiculous overthinking that probably wouldn't be that interesting
