I went to bed exactly at 10pm yesterday. I took a little melatonin so I can actually be rested enough to drive DC traffic. I feel asleep pretty quickly. Unfortunately, I work up in the middle of the night and spent an hour or two trying to get back to sleep. I don't think melatonin works through the night.
I woke up exactly at 6am. I spent a few minutes in bed but I was up right away. I was able to hit the road on time. Traffic was very light right until we reached the destination. There was no street parking anywhere. And at 730am, there was already a long line for the conference registration. It took me a few attempts before I found a stop to park temporarily. After my dad went to the venue, I drove to a starbucks some miles away so I could find decent parking. I stayed there and read my book until about 1230pm. The last half hour was tough. My eyes were heavy and I could have used a small nap.
The traffic back wasn't bad at all but I struggled to stay up. Even now as I write this, I am pleading with my body to wait until 8pm. That way I can get long stretch of uninterrupted sleep.
Tomorrow better be easier.
