Today I met a group of people in a zoom meeting. We meet on the first Saturday of the month. We talk about many different topics because we all connected through an online course.
Today the meeting lasted for 3 hours. The time flew. I usually try to end the meeting in an hour so people don't can still get some of their weekend time back. But there was so much good content today that it went on for a while.
The one thing I noticed at the meeting is that you learn a lot by openly talking to people. There is so much wealth of information that you can get from a group of people that you trust and share with. I have learnt a lot of things from this group and I have also shared a lot of information.
A friend once told me that my secret super power is that I can dig for information. At that time, I wasn't sure how I felt about that comment. Information is mostly free and it takes little skill to find something over the web. With time, I have started to find that I take a LONG time before I do something new. I do a ton of research to gather relevant data before I start. At the meeting today, I realized that my main role in the group was providing relevant information and helping with saving time and money. Though a lot of the tools I know about seemed trivial to me, I saw that people really want to know more and are willing to pay for this type of information that has a direct correlation to saving time and money. Maybe my friend made a valid observation.
