You gave me my first writing home. It changed names, and people came and went, but a core group remained until the lights went out. I know you're still creating and impacting the world in a positive way. I am grateful for the push that got me started. I'm still here.
You were my next home, a comfortable place that spun up very quickly with the main goal to keep the streak alive. This is where the hardcore people show up every day. If you follow what I write, you probably know me better than most people. It's my life on a screen, shoulder-to-shoulder, with the two guys who believe in the practice as much, if not more, than I do. You're still here. I'm still here.
You were another home. Unexpected, perhaps, but one with the earliest promise of keeping the social game alive. I enjoyed it for a time, remembering the good ol' days. At some point, it became a party where I no longer felt like I belong. We all have different tastes and reasons for showing up, and I am just a guest, after all. I may not show up every day, but I'm still here.
You gave me a different reason to write--a focus on goals and self-improvement. I was in on the ground floor, watching it take shape. It was the promise of a community once again, but that only works if people stick around. A few people have, writing about their interests and goals, and they inspire me to keep going. My posts look like crap because I don't have the patience to run through hoops and hurdles to format them properly. That doesn't stop me from showing up and making progress one day at a time. I'm still here.
So many people have shown up with a claim to want a writing habit. It's not for everyone, in fact, it may not be for most people. It's okay if you realized it's not for you. I hope you find that which you seek. I know I have because I'm still here.
