NMN

One of the many supplements that I have taken over the year is something called NMN.

I first heard about it a few years ago from a Harvard research scientist called David Sinclair. If I remember correctly, I either heard his interview on the Tim Ferris show or Impact theory. The interview was fascinating and I was sold on the idea of NMN.

Dr Sinclair talked about his dad doing a lot better since taking NMN. The doctor himself said that he was taking NMN along with Metformin (type 2 diabetes drug). Since his research was around longevity and vitality, he started to take some of the drugs that were showing promising results.

I remember paying a lot of money for NMN. And started to take it for a few month. I didn't do a good job of documenting the variables or noting any changes. In the end, I stopped taking it and the supplement expired.

Recently I got an email from the company I bought the NMN stating that the FDA is about to ban the supplement. These were the words used to explain why....

"NMN is excluded from the dietary supplement definition under section 201(ff(3)(B)(ii) of the FD&C Act (21 U.S.C. § 321(ff)(3)(B)(ii)) and may not be marketed as or in a dietary supplement.”

In other words - because the pharmaceutical companies want to sell it as a prescription, NMN is going to be banned from being sold as a supplement. Why wouldn't the potential fountain of youth not be an excellent business opportunity for Bid Pharma?
Yes Sir Abe.... every body wants to rule the world!
