Writing exercise

"Don't you ever get tired of writing every day?"

"Hell no! I enjoy it and am committed to it."

"How do you think of a different topic to write about every day?"

"Usually two topics, actually. I write on multiple sites. It's not that hard once you've gotten some practice in."

"I tried writing some on Medium. I didn't get anything out of it."

"You mean you didn't get any views or feedback?"

"That too."

"That's the problem. You've gotta do it for you and not the faceless masses."

"Isn't the whole point of writing online to have people read your shit?"

"I think of it like this: I'm like a hot chick at the gym. I'm working out for me and no one else. If other people want to get their jollies off watching, go ahead."

"Seems pointless."

"Are you saying exercise is pointless?"

"No, I like a good run now and then."

"That's what writing is to me--exercise. Except it's exercise I actually enjoy."

"So just write in some diary somewhere. Why does it have to be online?"

"Some of it is diary-style. Writing online is good practice for writing for an audience."

"You just said you don't care if anyone's reading, and now you want an audience, which is it?"

"Good question."
Was this an actual conversation with an 'other' being ?

My take on the matter is not very different, I believe expression is healthy and I find that some ideas cannot emerge unless one makes it a habit to convey whatever abstract thoughts or ideas may cross his mind. It is also a way of living a less lonely existence.

It was not, but one of my goals is to write conversations in which you can't tell the difference. 😎
