I have resumed writing my book.
I have finished my first draft in multiple forms. Lose paper, Google docs, Notebook, online and my mind. I have the story line and the specific things I am going to include. But there is no flow. No transition from one event to the next. It is just a cluster of writing.
I haven't been in the mood to do the hard work of putting it all together. Especially after I realized how much work it was going to be. But I feel up to it now. I read a ton of fiction last year - total of 74 books out of which maybe 5 were not fiction. I feel like that type of exposure helps in writing as well.
I especially find it very motivating when I read a great book. The last few books I read were just fantastic. It almost gets hard to read any other book after that cause it is hard to match that type of good. But I am making time to get back to my writing.

and input: write a novel for me
it would be valuable to ask why reading a great book discourages you from writing your own book.
it would illuminate your current reason for wanting to write a book
then you can discern whether that reason is a good enough reason or not
