Mark sat at the park bench alone. Besides the odd day when a stranger gifted him their company he sat alone. It had been this way for 12 years now. Time flew by even though his days felt slow. Now that the end was near he wished the days would go even slower. This would be his final winter. He would make it to the summer for sure. But there was no way he would make it to autumn. That the doctor was sure of.
If Maria had still been here then maybe he'd fight to make it longer. Maybe celebrate another . But without her he'd rather take his leave of this world in due time.
A young man walked by and gave him a look. A real look, not just a mere glance. You could say they were looking into each other. The young man didn't stop however. Mark found him to be strange. Like he didn't belong here... but wasn't a complete foreigner either.
Mark thought about the young man for a few hours before heading back.
