Carl

as reply to the old man recalls

The night of the death, The Blue man didn't feel a thing. It was quick and painless. For everyone else involved it wasn't. For weeks people surmised and bet. Betting apps even ran percentages. Carl even placed a few bets. The Blue man's videos were backed up and shared, and other influencers vied to take his place. But no one could, no one had that dedication. Carl continued to scroll for weeks after, but then something clicked. He stopped, The Blue Man to him was everything. He felt like he understood him. He tried podcasts then TV, but finally rested on going to the bar. It was dimly lit, and there he could keep talking about The Blue Man. He can't really be dead one would say. I think he's in Curacao, cause thats Blue you know. I don't know it seems weird man, maybe this is what he observes for killing that kid. But like was that real you know? Idk, the man to the left of Carl swirled his beer. Like how you would with wine. What a strange thing to do, the conversation lulled and he swirled the beer, and Carl watched the bubbles form, then fizzle out. Over and over. You think they'll do like a green man next the guy to his right said. Carl didn't know, they just watched the TV droll out news stories, a hurricane, a flood, a convention for golden retriever owners. Carl sighed and finished his beer.
